Hon Steven Marshall MP, Premier

Friday 28 September 2018

The Awards, in their seventh year, recognise excellence in diversity, working with communities and innovation demonstrated by resources and energy companies and organisations.

Premier Steven Marshall said the awards celebrate companies that demonstrate leadership and ‘best practice’ to improve the economic and social wellbeing of our many communities.

“The energy and resources sectors in South Australia are widely recognised as major employers, exporters and innovators,” Mr Marshall said.

“These awards look beyond economic outcomes to the many contributions the sector makes to the South Australian rural, regional and state-wide communities in which they operate.

“Award-winning companies will be recognised for taking a lead in making South Australia the place to successfully undertake innovative projects, partner with local communities and promote workforce diversity.”

This year, the awards have been widened to include companies and organisations operating in the:

  • Energy sector (generation, transmission, distribution, retail, energy products and services)
  • Resources sector (exploration, mining, petroleum, quarrying) and,
  • Mining Equipment, Technology and Services (METS) sector.

Thirteen awards will be presented across three new award categories:

  • Excellence in Diversity
  • Excellence in Working with Communities
  • Excellence in Innovation.

A judging panel will be convened for each of the three sectors, comprising representatives from government, industry and community sectors.

Applications close at 5:00 pm on Friday 26 October 2018.

The Awards will be presented on Friday 30 November 2018 at a Gala Event at the Hotel Grand Chancellor Adelaide, organised by the Department for Energy and Mining. Event tickets will go on sale at a date to be announced.
