The dataset is available via the “Data and Publications” page. Each package is a consolidated set of seismic and well data to facilitate new ventures and exploration assessments of frontier basins in South Australia. Data releases for other frontier basins will follow.

2D SEG-Y

Open file seismic lines with 2D SEG-Y data are accessible via SARIG, with an option to preview an A4-size jpeg image prior to downloading data. Associated open file seismic survey company reports can also be downloaded from SARIG.

Datasets have been consolidated, edited and uploaded for the following Basins:

  • Cooper
  • Officer
  • Pedirka
  • Eromanga
  • Arckaringa
  • Arrowie
  • Otway
  • Murray

SARIG offers two ways to search for and access seismic seg-y datasets


1. Map Menu  – Spatial Search

Click on the Spatial Search icon from the map menu (below).

Select 2D and 3D seismic lines from the data source drop down box and draw an area on the SARIG map. A result search from your search will appear in the bottom right corner of your screen, with an option to download to a CSV (Excel) file.




2. Main Menu – Geoscientific Data – Seismic Data

Click on Main Menu icon, then select Geoscientific Data from the list displayed.

Scroll down list and select Seismic Data.

Select either Spatial Search or the Activate Map layers option.

  • Spatial Search, select Seismic data from the source drop down box. This option will provide the abililty  to “cookie cut” the seismic 2D lines or 3D siesmic areas that contain seg-y data downloads within the area drawn on the map.
  • Activate Map Layers, when selected will display the map layers 2D seismic lines with SEG-Y data and 3D survey areas on the SARIG map. Use the identify tool or query tool to access additional downloads.

Data Downloads

The results return from either the spatial search or map layer identify/query tools contain hyperlinked fields, displayed as blue underlined text.

2D Lines with SEG-Y data

Line

  • Click on the hyperlink to access a list of seismic lines available and further information including the file size of SEG-Y datasets.
  • Click on the download SEG-Y data option to start downloading data. SEG-Y viewer is required to view the downloaded .sgy file. SARIG provides a list of suggested viewers.

JPEG file

  • Click the JPEG file hyperlink to preview A4 .jpg of the seismic data. Note that the image is representative only as the data has been adjusted to always fit an A4 page.

Company Report

  • Click the Company Report hyperlink to access and download open file survey report.the seismic data. Note that the image is representative only as the data has been adjusted to always fit an A4 page.
