SARIG offers two ways to search and access Geophysical data:

1. Map Menu – Spatial Search

Click on the Spatial Seach icon from the map menu (below)

Select Geophysical data from the data source drop down box and draw an area on the SARIG map. A result search from your search will appear in the bottom right corner of your screen, with an option to download to a CSV (Excel) file.

Clicking the Advanced Search button on the screen will go to a Search Extent form (shown further down this page).

2. Main Menu – Geoscientific Data – Geophysical Data

Click on Main Menu icon, select Geoscientific Data, then select Geophysical Data from the list displayed.

Select either Spatial Search or the Activate Map Layers option

Spatial Search – select Mineral drillholes from the data source drop down box. This option will provide an advanced search option to access the SA Geodata database for government and company gravity, radiometrics, gravity, AEM, and ground magnetic surveys.

Activate Map Layers – when selected will display all available geophysical map layers on the SARIG map.

Once an area has been drawn on the map and the Advanced Search button pressed, the Search Extent form  appears. Fields indicate the coordinates of the area of interest that are pre-populated once the area is drawn and manual input is not required. If specific coordinates are known, replace the pre-populated coordinates with your own.

The Geophysical data for the selected area can then be be downloaded from the form below.
