Text description of current and future digital state The current digital state of GSSA data in 2021 is that searchability across all data sources is complex and some data are in non-readable formats. Legacy geoscience datastores have pockets of locked data, and there are gaps in data coverage. Delivery formats are not fit for purpose with some unreadable by machines. The Geological Survey of South Australia's strategic vision is to deliver fundamental geoscience data and service platforms to enable a modern data-driven exploration revolution in South Australia. With this in mind, the future digital state for 2025 is to have easy access to accurate, up-to-date geoscience data using cloud-based integration to improve service efficiency, flexibility and scalability. Establish open application programming interface (API) endpoints to make data findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable (FAIR data principles), and expand the digital footprint of South Australian geoscience information to unlock mineral resources.
