Stage 2 of Nexif’s Lincoln Gap windfarm has now been completed, marking a significant milestone in South Australia’s transformation into a renewable energy powerhouse. There is now a call for tenders for Stage 3 of Lincoln Gap.

Nexif’s 212 MW windfarm and 10 MW grid scale battery at Lincoln Gap will help deliver cheaper, cleaner electricity to South Australian households and businesses.

Stage 3 will add another 256 MW of wind power to the project, illustrating the importance of Project EnergyConnect in providing a green freeway for renewable energy produced in South Australia and exported to New South Wales.

Nexif’s plans to more than double the current size of Lincoln Gap in the next couple of years will deliver great jobs and new business opportunities for local communities, opening up immense opportunities for companies to tap into our world class wind and solar resources.”

Construction of Stage 1 at Lincoln Gap started in 2017 and consisted of 35 turbines delivering 126MW, Stage 2 added 24 turbines and another 86MW plus the 10 MW grid scale battery.

“With the state’s ongoing commitment to renewables, we’re continuing to invest with confidence in projects including Lincoln Gap Windfarm Stage 2 and Snapper Point Power Station project, both to complete commissioning shortly, as well as Lincoln Gap Wind Farm Stage 3 project which is targeted for completion by 2024.
