Fostering sustainable projects in South Australia.

The latest Roundtable for Oil and Gas Projects in South Australia meeting, held in late 2018, was an opportunity to refresh working groups to address new priorities that will help shape future directions.

Minister for Energy and Mining, Dan van Holst Pellekaan, gave an opening address by video in which he thanked everyone for participating, for bringing their skill, capacity, experience and knowledge to the table for the benefit of the oil and gas industry.

The Minister highlighted the sector’s role in energy supply and helping to reduce energy costs for households and businesses. He also spoke about growth opportunities in the Cooper Basin and renewal in the South East. Underpinning all of this will be the continuing importance of engagement with community.

Following on, the meeting discussed oil and gas plays in the Cooper and Eromanga basins, Otway Basin exploration and gas development projects, the Leigh Creek Project, LNG imports/gas markets, the Gas Industry Social and Environment Research Alliance (GISERA) project in the South East and exploration in the offshore Bight Basin.
