Shining a light on the best and brightest.

The 10th annual Premier’s Awards in Energy and Mining sought to recognise global leadership and dynamic, transformative work within the sectors.

Winners include innovative organisations and young achievers bringing their imagination, drive, passion and determination to the energy and mining industries.

Over 270 industry and business representatives joined Premier Steven Marshall and Minister for Energy and Mining, the Hon Dan van Holst Pellekaan, at the gala ceremony to celebrate the awards.

Entrants ranged from a large-scale energy project, to a closed-circuit waste management system to reprocess all waste streams, to air booster packages suitable for specific drilling rigs, collaboration to extend a mine’s life by 15 years, and engagement programs focusing on Aboriginal business and communities.

The Premier said, ‘South Australia’s concentration on environmental sustainability and technological innovation has made our state a global leader in the energy and mining sectors which make up 7.9% per cent of our economy.’

Minister van Holst Pellekaan, noted that the winners illustrate the dynamic and transformative work being undertaken in both sectors.
