The Government of South Australia's mine completion group within the Mineral Resources Division has a comprehensive program that manages several former mine sites and addresses issues of environmental and public safety.

The mine completion group works with new and existing mining operations to:

  • develop and implement policy and processes related to the government's role in adopting the Ministerial Council on Mineral and Petroleum Resources' (MCMPR) Strategic Framework for Mine Closure
  • develop management arrangements for strategic Extractive Areas Rehabilitation Fund issues.
