The depositIron oxide – copper-gold (IOCG) deposit hosted in a brecciated granite complex, mostly chalcopyrite with a central high grade bornite zone
Mining operation
  • Underground mining process called sub-level caving where the deposit is blasted then collected by loaders, crushed, and loaded onto a conveyor belt that transports the ore up to the surface
  • Ore will be processed onsite to produce concentrate
  • Concentrate may undergo further processing through a concentrate treatment plant

Application and assessment process OZ Minerals was granted a mineral lease (ML) on January 2018 application and three miscellaneous purposes licence (MPL) applications on 26 May 2017 for the purposes of carrying out mining operations for the recovery of copper, gold and silver. Nine extractive mineral leases, EMLs 6480-6488 were granted on 13 July 2018. Five miscellaneous purposes licences (MPL) have been issued for ancillary infrastructure (water supply, accommodation facilities, and airport) associated with the mining operations.
