Hydrogen and Renewable Energy Act draft bill

Update 4 March 2024 - Draft regulations open for consultation

The proposed Hydrogen and Renewable Energy regulations are available for review and submissions.

The six-week consultation period will close  on 15 April 2024.

About the regulations

South Australia is on the way to introducing the nation's first 'one window to government' licencing and regulatory system for large-scale hydrogen and renewable energy projects.

We have developed draft regulations that will provide the detail to support the Hydrogen and Renewable Energy Act 2023 (the Act). The regulations cannot introduce anything new outside the Act's scope. They provide details on a range of operational requirements in regard to the licencing and regulatory system established by the Act.
