From Roundtable, to Summit!
South Australia has a proud legacy of supplying energy resources to local, national, and international markets. Today, it continues to lead the way in energy innovation and sustainability. The South Australian Government is at the forefront of the national transition to net zero, supporting landmark initiatives such as the Moomba Carbon Capture and Storage Project, pioneering exploration for geologic hydrogen and helium, and achieving 75% renewable energy market penetration.
Since its inception in 2010, the Roundtable for Energy Resources has welcomed over 2,300 participants from more than 1,150 organisations. Attendees include representatives from industry, government, peak bodies for environment and Aboriginal affairs, research institutions, and individual experts.
The Roundtable has now evolved into the renamed 'Energy Resources Summit', which now serves as a vital platform for sharing updates on the current landscape of energy resources across Australia. It also plays a key role in shaping future government strategies for the development and regulation of natural gas and other energy-related substances in South Australia.
