The Geological Survey of South Australia (GSSA) has launched a new one-stop portal, making it easier for industry to unlock South Australia’s wealth of geological data.
Forming part of the SARIG (South Australian Resources Information Gateway) suite of delivery services, the new Catalogue combines datasets previously published from multiple systems and places them in one searchable portal.
From publications, reports, geological maps, products and models, to an extensive spatial data library and database extracts, so much of GSSA’s geological data is now available in the one place.
Features of the new SARIG Catalogue include:
- Searching by record type, category or even spatially-bound exploration activity
- Exploring with advanced filters like category type, documentation type, commodity, geological province, stratigraphy, file format, publication date, and more
- Accessing past and present exploration reports and data with ease
The catalogue also provides improved access to historic and current open file exploration and mining regulation reporting, including:
- Exploration activities
- Mining operation proposals
- Compliance with regulations
- Environmental programs
With a modernised interface and enhanced interoperability (standard vocabularies ISO 19115-3, and OGC protocols), the SARIG Catalogue is designed to make research faster, smarter and more efficient.
