Application and approval process

On 31 March 2021 Central Iron submitted a mining proposal to support the mining lease application to the Department for Energy and Mining for the Buzzard Iron Ore Project.

The Minister for Energy and Mining published the mining proposal and sought written submissions from members of the public in relation to the application. No public submissions were received during the four-week public consultation period, which concluded on 20 May 2021.

The Department for Energy and Mining requested Central Iron provide a response to technical matters raised by government agencies. A copy of the request for response letter can be found here:
