Mining operation

The Campoona Graphite Project consists of:

  • Campoona ML 6470 for the recovery of minerals (graphite) from a conventional open-cut
  • Sugarloaf MPL 150 for a processing facility for the production of about 10,000 tonnes per annum of high grade graphite concentrate and the tailings storage of waste materials
  • Pindarie MPL 151 for the supporting water infrastructure

Tenement information

Campoona Graphite Project consists of:

  • mineral lease ML 6470 covering an area of 68.93 hectares
  • miscellaneous purpose licence MPL 150 with an area of 239.56 hectares
  • miscellaneous purpose licence MPL 151 with an area of 499.21 hectares

Current documents and approval process

On 26 October 2016 Pirie Resources Pty Ltd lodged a mining proposal (MC 4393) for the Campoona Graphite Project in the Cleve Hills of Eyre Peninsula.

Mining proposal and management plans

Following the six week statutory public consultation period, the South Australian Government requested that Pirie Resources provide a response document responding to issues raised in the submissions received. After assessment of the responses the document was made available for public viewing.

ML 6470 and MPL 150 and MPL 151 were granted on 8 December 2017.
