The South Australian Multiple Land Use Framework aims to balance the interests of multiple stakeholders and build long-term wealth for the common good.

The framework:

  • encourages appropriate multiple land use
  • recognises the importance of land ownership and timely engagement with landowners, communities and organisations
  • promotes transparency and consistency when making land use decisions, aiming to encourage consideration of multiple and sequential land use and effective, targeted engagement with communities.

The framework can be used by anyone involved in multiple land use projects. It:

  • emphasises the importance of considering multiple land uses early in a project
  • provides tools and general policy direction to help regulators, decision-makers and individuals improve stakeholder engagement (see 'guiding principles' and 'key engagement mechanisms' of the framework).
