Comments attributable to Department for Energy and Mining Chief Executive Paul Martyn PSM
I’m thrilled to see a record number of nominations received for this year’s Awards. It not only demonstrates the innovation, ambition and commitment of individuals in South Australia's energy and resources sectors; it recognises the efforts of those groups and businesses that help bring prosperity to this state.
For 15 years, these awards have recognised the people and organisations delivering practical solutions, creating opportunities and strengthening the communities in which they operate.
We’re entering a time when these two sectors will be called upon to help transform the global economy, and their best will be demanded. The 2026 finalists represent the very best of our sectors and demonstrate why South Australia continues to be recognised for its leadership in energy and resources.
I congratulate every finalist and thank all 75 nominees for their contribution to South Australia.
This year's finalists show that success in energy and mining is measured not only through production and investment, but through safe workplaces, stronger partnerships, environmental responsibility and benefits for communities.
The quality and diversity of nominations made the task of our 24 judges particularly challenging, and I thank them for contributing their expertise and time.
Congratulations to all finalists on this well-deserved recognition.
