Bass Oil commenced operating two oil fields in the Cooper Basin in August 2022. Whilst starting off as small operator, the systematic expectation in regard to aspects such as safety are no different than any other size operator.

Bass chose a scalable and adaptable Safety Management System that was web-based and fit for purpose, without compromising reporting, recording, monitoring and auditing features. Adapting an online system from day 1 avoided the creation of any paper based legacy systems that might compromise future operations, with historical or data retrieval.

DoneSafe provided this opportunity to deliver a robust, user friendly and flexible system.

Donesafe is a modular e-Safety Management System that can be tailored based on the simplicity or complexity of the organisation. Bass as new operator in the Cooper Basin, Australia and with two existing fields to operate had a small footprint with regard to plant and equipment, but needed to build a safety system that was easy to use, encouraged field-based personnel to use and fulfill the requirements of the regulator to ensure that license conditions and best industry practices were being used or developed.

The key criteria was to demonstrate to the regulator that a Safety Management System was being adopted and used to ensure compliance with License Conditions.
