SIMEC Mining and Liberty Primary Steel (GFG Alliance, GFG) have a long and sustained history of working with and supporting the local communities in which they operate. Their programs focus on community support and impact across six main categories of Disadvantaged, Education and Learning, Youth Arts, Sports and Development, Indigenous, Diversity and Inclusion, and Community Events, and includes participation and collaboration.

Whyalla has been through some challenging times, frequently earning the 'resilient' tag by the media, and for good reason. Community support by GFG and its predecessors has been consistent throughout all these times, and becoming even more important as we continue to work and partner with major support providers, community support organisations, Aboriginal organisations, local government, and youth-arts, sporting and development groups.

GFG is proud of both its long running program, and the impact it has on a daily basis for our communities, as we continue to  expand scope, impact and relevance.
