Hanson operates White Rock Quarry, a private mine east of Adelaide CBD, on a site highlighted by the South Australian Government as a Strategic Resource Area (an area of key economic value, vital for South Australia to support the needs of local communities).
Site management planned to improve visual amenity for visitors to the adjacent Horsnell Gully Conservation Park and neighbours located on Coach Road that potentially could spot changes in the landscape due to the construction activities.
The site recently undertook the construction of a new sediment basin to improve surface water treatment on site. The final construction left some walls visually exposed, and the target of the project was to improve those areas.
