Tesla have developed and designed a unique set of energy solutions that enable homeowners, businesses and utilities to manage renewable energy generation, storage and consumption.

Tesla's mission is to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy. Tesla is also the global leader in the development and delivery of Virtual Power Plants (VPPs), including the South Australian Virtual Power Plant (SA VPP), delivered by Tesla and Energy Locals with support from the Government of South Australia and the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA).

Tesla with the support of the South Australian Government is installing 50,000 solar and Powerwall systems in South Australia to create the world’s largest Virtual Power Plant. SA VPP is one of Australia's most significant renewable energy projects directly reducing the cost of living for public housing tenants across South Australia. A Tesla trial, in partnership with the Department for Energy and Mining and with SA Housing Authority, has resulted in tenants with properties unsuitable for solar PV to benefit from the project by having Powerwall batteries installed without requiring solar PV.

Tesla currently employs people in Australia across the full range of development and deployment of utility scale energy storage and VPP work. Our permanent employees provide end-to-end development of all Tesla’s local energy projects including business development, engineering, project management, market integration, service and operations.
