Update for the resources and energy sector
Emergency Management (Cross Border Travel – Associated Direction No 9) (COVID-19) Direction 2021 took effect from 12:23 pm Wednesday 12 May 2021 to introduce level 6 entry restrictions in response to Victoria identifying COVID-19 exposure sites throughout Melbourne.
All people, including Essential Travellers, who have been at a COVID-19 Tier 1 and Tier 2 exposure site at the specified date and time specified on the Government of Victoria website are not permitted to enter South Australia. These people are subject to quarantine and testing provisions in Victoria and should not be travelling interstate.
The new associated direction does not change the already existing restrictions on travellers from New South Wales who have visited the exposure sites specified on the NSW Health website.
People who are in South Australia before Associated Direction 9 came into effect and who have been at COVID-19 Tier 1 and Tier 2 exposure sites at the specified date and time on the Government of Victoria website must:
- reside and remained quarantined and segregated from other people for 14 days at a place determined by an authorised officer
- receive a COVID-19 test within 24 hrs and on day 5 and 13 following arrival into South Australia
- wear a face mask which covers their mouth and nose at any time that the person comes in contact with the public for 14 days after their arrival into South Australia.
Companies from essential industries should ensure any workers who have visited the listed locations at the specified times as a close or casual contact should adhere to the prohibition on entry to South Australia set out in Level 6 restrictions.
Provisions of the Cross Border Travel (Associated Direction No.9) should be read in conjunction with the General Cross Border Travel Direction.
