GMUSG is an industry owned cluster of over 120 contractors and suppliers who carry out operations in the Upper Spencer Gulf (USG).

COVID-19 highlighted the necessity of being able to engage online to minimise disruption to work. Instead of providing short-term, financial crisis assistance, Global Maintenance Upper Spencer Gulf (GMUSG) and OZ Minerals partnered
to deliver the Competitive Capability Program (CCP).

The CCP is a cross-sector, region-wide, capacity-building program designed to mitigate short-term economic impacts, improve the overall capacity of USG businesses to showcase their services, and amplify the region’s reputation as the home of world class suppliers, resources, and services.

The CCP delivered hands-on business development assistance to 50 SMEs across the USG, resulting in direct economic benefits for participating businesses. It has also created new capabilities and strengthened networks in regional communities.

Due to the success of the program, it has been extended for an additional 12 months.
